Curtocircuito, the International Short Film Festival of Santiago de Compostela , began in 2004 with the intention of promoting and rewarding audiovisual creation in the short film world.
More than just a competition, the festival proposes events all year round. We have therefore developed a whole series of parallel activities that constitute an essential part of
Curtocircuito.Take part and enjoy our open-air thematic programs of Na Rua, our scriptwriting competition, our workshops and round tables with important figures in the audiovisual world.

This is when we take the films to the streets of the town. This is an opportunity to enjoy free open-air screenings in the most emblematic squares of the old part of the town of Santiago de Compostela.
Our program will offer 6 nights of quality films sorted by themes during the month of August. The audience can vote for their favorite film and take part in the Na Rúa audience prize.
Also, new to this year, a DJ will liven up the nights of Santiago before each screening.
Compostela Plató
Compostela Plató is our script writing competition. From all the scripts received, we will select the best one, the award being the production of the film.
The story must take place a minimum of 80% in Santiago. Compostela Plató is an initiative that claims to give the opportunity for a quality script to be shot, and at the same time promotes the incomparable setting of the city.
The Market is directed to take advantage of the presence of professionals during the festival in May. This has become an opportunity to create a meeting point between buyers, distributors, programmers, or other film professionals that are taking part in the festival. The Market activities include free round tables, workshops, professional projections and video booths with all the films sent to the festival. If you are a film professional, all you need to do is get an
accreditation..
+ Curtocircuito offers parallel projections that do not compete in any of the official categories of the festival. They take place during the
Official Week but also throughout the year in
Cultural Community Centres, the
Auditorio of Galicia or any other venue dedicated to audio-visual screenings.
Curtocircuito always has a space to show some of the most interesting short films that we have received throughout the years. Grouped in a series of thematic programs we offer the most attractive films of our invited country, retrospectives of famous directors, shorts of the European Film Academy, the latest video clips, free hands to other friend festivals, programs for children and teenagers and much more!
